The Early Learning New Mexico state leadership team is excited to kick-off New Mexico’s Preschool Development Grant – Birth to Five (PDG B-5). As many of you know, New Mexico was recently awarded a $5.4 million from the Department of Health and Human Services for the PDG B-5, which includes conducting a comprehensive statewide early learning needs assessment and strategic plan. The 3 year early learning strategic plan will be used by the new Early Childhood Education and Care Department that was enacted in the recent legislative session to build a quality early learning system. As we move forward with the statewide needs assessment over the coming year we are looking for stakeholder input into how to effectively engage communities and partners from across the state to ensure that all voices and needs are heard – especially underserved and vulnerable populations. Specifically the 3 areas we are requesting input into are: • Communities where early learning forums can be held • Partner organizations and strategies for reaching underserved and vulnerable populations • Strategies for disseminating a statewide survey to maximize participation Please join us for a working session on May 1, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Embassy Suites (1000 Woodward Pl NE Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102). Below is the registration link for this very important event. In a few days we will provide a link for virtual stakeholder input for those of you that cannot attend this meeting. We look forward to partnering with you in this exciting journey!
